Hole - Pretty On The Inside (1991)

Pretty on the Inside is the debut studio album by American alternative rock band Hole, released September 17, 1991 on Caroline Records. Produced by Sonic Youth musician Kim Gordon and Gumball frontman Don Fleming, Pretty on the Inside was Hole's first major label release after their formation in 1989 by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Courtney Love and lead guitarist Eric Erlandson; the band had previously released two singles through local and independent music labels based in Long Beach and Seattle.
Pretty on the Inside is noted for being the band's only work to be predominantly influenced by noise rock and punk rock, due to its graphic lyrics, distorted guitar riffs, screaming vocals, and "sloppy punk ethics", much in contrast with their followup album, Live Through This (1994), which featured a more accessible sound. Several songs on Pretty on the Inside sample guitar riffs verbatim from Neil Young and Bauhaus songs, and the album's closing track is a frenzied cover of "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell. In addition to its raucous musical composition, the lyrical content of the album was described by music critics as being confrontational and "genuinely uninhibited".  (wikipedia.com)

Well...I think it`s definitely a kick ass album which is worth listening to.

  1. Salut, in primul rand vreau sa iti spun ca faci o treaba buna cu blogul. Mi-a facut placere sa vad articole despre The U-men, Wipers sau Rapeman.

    Toate bune
    Dan
