The Germs - Rough Mixes And Outtakes

The Germs are an American punk rock band from Los Angeles, California, originally active from 1977 to 1980. The band's early lineup consisted of singer Darby Crash, guitarist Pat Smear, bassist Lorna Doom, and their most consistent drummer Don Bolles. Germs have since reformed in 2005 with Shane West replacing Darby Crash. They released only one album, 1979's (GI) (produced by Joan Jett) and were featured the following year in Penelope Spheeris' documentary film The Decline of Western Civilization, which chronicled the Los Angeles punk movement.
The Germs disbanded following Crash's suicide on December 7, 1980. Their music was influential to many later punk rock acts. Pat Smear went on to greater notoriety performing with Nirvana and the Foo Fighters.

U-men - Step On A Bug & Solid Action

Step on a Bug is the sole studio album by Seattle based Grunge pioneers The U-Men. It was released in 1988 on Black Label Records.

Solid Action, is a compilation album released in 2000 by Seattle based pre-Grunge band The U-Men. It was released by the label Chuckie-Boy. The name of the album is taken from track 10 on Step On A Bug.

Cock Sparrer - True Gift (1978)

Cock Sparrer is the first album by punk rock band Cock Sparrer. It was released in 1978 on Decca Records only in Spain.
In 1977 Decca released two singles by Cock Sparrer, "Running Riot" b/w "Sister Suzie" and "We Love You" b/w "Chip on my Shoulder", neither of which achieved much success. Although the band recorded an album's worth of material, Decca dropped the band in 1978 and didn't release the album in the UK, but oddly did release it as this self-titled album in Spain, which featured the four songs released on singles and six more.
The album was first made available in the UK in 1987 when it was released as True Grit by Razor Records. In 2000, the album was released by the Austrian label DSS Records, which re-arranged the tracks and called it Diamonds & Pearls. Then, in 2006, Captain Oi! released The Decca Years, which featured the album with 5 more tracks recorded during the same time. (source: wikipedia.com)

Joan Jett and The Blackhearts - Bad Reputation (1980)

Bad Reputation is the debut solo album by Joan Jett, originally self-released in 1980 as Joan Jett after her previous band The Runaways disbanded, then re-issued on Boardwalk Records in 1981 as Bad Reputation.

After independently recording the album with producer Kenny Laguna, Jett took the record to a number of major record labels, all of which were uninterested in releasing the project. Rather than continue to hunt for a willing label, Laguna and Jett decided to fund the pressing of the album themselves. The original, self-released, version of the album was simply titled Joan Jett and was sold directly to concert-goers and record stores out of Laguna's trunk.

The album sold relatively well, prompting its re-release a year later as Bad Reputation on Boardwalk Records, with identical tracklisting. Jett said that the new title referred to the bad reputation that she had as a former member of the Runaways.

Recorded before Jett formed The Blackhearts, it includes performances by a large number of well known musicians, including The Sex Pistols' Paul Cook and Steve Jones, Blondie's Clem Burke and Frank Infante, The Ramones' Dee Dee Ramone and Marky Ramone and The Tyla Gang's Sean Tyla, Micky Groome and Paul Simmons.

When the album's European rights were secured through Ariola Records, "Hanky Panky" replaced "Wooly Bully" as the final song on Side 2. When the record was issued through Boardwalk in the US under the title "Bad Reputation", the label stuck with "Wooly Bully" as the final track, making the "Hanky Panky" import version a real collector's item. However, the song was included as a bonus track on the 1999 CD re-issue.

In 1999, the album was again re-issued, this time on CD with several bonus tracks and a remastered version of the original album.

"Joan Jett's debut album is an infectious romp through her influences, ranging from classic '50s and '60s rock & roll through glam rock, three-chord loud'n'fast Ramones punk, and poppier new wave guitar rock." (Steve Huey, Allmusic)

"Unfortunately, Bad Reputation is flawed by its literal-mindedness — the arrangements pump along gamely yet rarely swing or soar — and by some unresourceful material. But in its mood and feel, Joan Jett's first solo album is a determined retelling of what sometimes seems like the truest rock story there is." (Tom Carson, Rolling Stone

HOLE, Live Through This (1994)

Live Through This was praised unanimously by music critics and rock periodicals. Rolling Stone said, "Love delivers punk not only as insinuating as Nirvana's but as corrosive as the Sex Pistols'. More significantly, Live Through This may be the most potent blast of female insurgency ever committed to tape", while Entertainment Weekly gave the album a B+ rating, saying, "What Live Through This makes perfectly clear, though, is that Love is a greater star. She has charisma and attitude to burn, and she knows it. " NME called the album "a personal but secretive thrash-pop opera of urban nihilism and passionate dumbthinks", and Melody Maker called it "the high watermark of the genre that survived the crass label of `foxcore'..."
Musician Magazine said, "[Kurt] Cobain's much-discussed, little heard other half finally gets the chance to escape gossip-column purgatory and succceeds with flying colors... Courtney Love's foul, funny eloquence...cuts through all the bullshit with a mighty flourish." This sentiment was reassessed in a 2008 BBC review of the album, which stated, "In 1994 and the years that followed, tragedy and controversy seemed to overshadow everything Courtney Love touched. Thankfully, with every year that passes, it becomes easier to put the record’s emotional baggage to one side and appraise it on the strength of its songs."
Spin perhaps gave the album its greatest praise, awarding it a 10/10 rating and naming it the #1 album of the year on their "20 Best Albums of 1994" list, noting, "Love rode her band's gargantuan riffs through a shy loner's air-guitar fantasy: rock stardom as revenge upon the entire human race."The album's prolificness has been recognized in more recent years as well— it was ranked number 466 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, and was included in TIME magazine's All-TIME 100 Albums list, as well as the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

PunkRock of the lost generation - local scene - WAX MUPPET

There is one place where time and space are always appropiate, where echos call for supporting a scene and punks are all dressed up in garbage - but no posers, no fear, no limits, no pain...Back at the basiscs, where evolution was crucially writing history....by starting riots. Devotion, dream machine, electric guitars and chaos. Unborn revolution - aborted crisis - euphory - artistic movement. All this have been compressed for at least just a few seconds like deja-vus in a scuff proof design over lots of influences, lost, burried influences. Sadly undiscoverd and not tasted yet - give this a try and download probably the only authentic sound of a lost generation, in a country and city where communism has never really disolved, where people are all connected to the same giant empty brain.  Recreated through this recorded performance, WAX MUPPET is a local band that has never had the chance to develop as it should have...and this is probably the one and only custom record prooving that punk music scene definitely needs an audience of its own...And currently, there is no such audience.
